“Quality is the value we add that helps our customers succeed.”
– Joel Shapiro, co-founder
Following family tradition, Alan, Joel, and Bob Shapiro started a printing company in a city full of printing companies in 1976. Printing is, after all, Minnesota’s second-leading manufactured product. The family’s vision – that a printing company could succeed by obsessing on quality – has been proven correct by Shapco’s customers.
Shapco Printing owns, and fills, the building it occupied a small portion of three decades ago in Minneapolis’ vintage warehouse district. The company has grown and prospered, and so has the warehouse district. Today 120 employees occupy the entire building, while all around it condos, cafes, and a brand-new major-league baseball stadium across the street redefine the north side of the city.
What hasn’t changed in 35 years is the company’s commitment to its vision – that knowledgeable buyers understand the value of “quality.” It’s how we measure ourselves. When the product you purchase from us exceeds its goals and your expectations, we’ve done our job.
